Using Media as a Shot

Sometimes in Filmatick, you just can’t get the exact shot you want. It’s usually because it’s an insert of an object that you don’t have a model for or you want a specific pose that Filmatick just can’t do (yet). If that’s the case, you can always use an image as a shot.

It’s done in a very similar way as creating a shot.

After you draw a tick and select IMAGE as the media type in the create tick window, go on to the next steps:

  1. Click on the shot type you want - IE Closeup, Medium, Establishing

    1. This doesn’t have to be a character specific shot. It can be any shot.

  2. If your shot IS character specific, select the character that the shot is regarding - IE Closeup of Mike

  3. Select Image or Import Image

    1. IF you have already imported an image, Filmatick will store it and allow you to use it anyway you want. In this case, click on Select Image and go to Step 4.

    2. If you must import an image, click on Import Image

      1. Find the image you want to use in the Windows pop up.

  4. Click on Confirm or Cancel - The Confirm and Open Shot will be deactivated (greyed out). That’s correct because we cannot open the shot - it’s an image.
