Selecting Sets in Filmatick
Sometimes you want to just get into a generic set to create your shots. Filmatick offers a variety of sets including a courtroom, a restaurant, and a neighborhood (just to name a few).
The Select a Set pop up will show when you first start Filmatick. You can click on the x in the top right to close this window without selecting a set. In order to reopen the popup, click on a different Scene in the Shot List.
Another way to open the popup is to right click on the Scene in the Shot List Panel and click on the Select Set in the dropdown.
How to Use Select a Set
Open the Select a Set through one of various ways listed below.
Pick between Create a Set, Existing Set, or Templates
Name the Set.
Click on Create Set.
Create Set
Choose Create a Set if you are starting a brand new set from scratch. Learn how to create a set.
Existing Sets
After you have created a set, you may reuse it again in any scene. The name of the set will be under the dropdown named Existing.
When first using a project, there will be nothing in the Existing dropdown.
Templates
These are the sets created by Filmatick that are included in the software. They may be altered anyway you would like. Once you name a template, you may reuse it again in any scene.
The templates are broken up into Exterior and Interior sets.
Ways to Select a Set
1 - On Startup
After you first start a new project and add a script, after Filmatick completes adding your scenes, the Pop up window will show.
2 - By Left Clicking on a Scene in the Shot List that doesn’t have a set associated with it.
This is noted in the Shot List as a “-”. Once a set is assigned to a Scene, it will contain the name that you called it, on the far right of the Shot List.
