Auto Placement of Audio

A great way to add your audio into the timeline is by using Auto-placement. This button will put the audio in the timeline under the correct actor in the same place as was determined in the script.

Filmatick places the audio based on the location of 1/8ths on the script. If a line of dialog is consecutive, it will place the next line of dialog right after the previous one.

Filmatick is smart enough to know which character is speaking and will place each actor’s dialog on their track in the Timeline.

To use Auto Placement of Dialog.

  1. Click on the icon in the timeline.

  2. A Place dialog module will appear

  3. Left Click on the Scene Dropdown to select the scene(s) that you want to place dialog.

  4. Click confirm.

 

 

Dialog may only be placed in scenes which don’t have dialog in the timeline. If a scene does have dialog, the Scene dropdown menu will have that scene greyed out.
