This panel allows the user to “look through” the camera at the shot. You are able to move the camera as you do in the real world.

On the TOP of the panel are the following buttons:

Reset Position and Rotation - Changes the camera to the original view before making changes.

Rule of Thirds Grid - A toggle overlay of the rule of thirds.

Center Target - A toggle overlay of the Center Target.

How to move the camera

Instead of trying to translate or rotate the camera in the 3d view, the user can access the same tools we use as a filmmaker. Click on what you want to do with the camera and left click and drag in the camera view.

Lens

Allows the user to change the lens of the camera.

Position

Truck (Hotkey = 1) - Moves the camera left and right.

Pedestal (Hotkey = 2) - Moves the camera up and down.

Dolly (Hotkey = 3) - Moves the camera forward and back.

Rotation

Tilt (Hotkey = 4) - Rotates the camera left and right.

Pan (Hotkey = 5) - Rotates the camera up and down.

Twist (Hotkey = 6) - Rotates the camera clockwise or counter clockwise.

If you make a change to the camera and after you move in time in the dopesheet and the camera doesn’t retain the new move, make sure that you have autokey on.

AutoKey is the second from the right. If it is on, it will be highlighted. Learn more about AutoKey.
